Swimming

Swimming

This week room 15 have been doing swimming 

lessons. The first week we got put into groups and my group
got to swim in the lane pool it is deeper and a tiny bit colder but much easier
to swim in. All the first week we did lots and lots of lengths. This
week on Monday and Tuesday we did more lengths and then
on Wednesday we got split into to groups and learnt how to make a huddle
even though we all ready know. One Tuesday we also got to hop on a boat and
then fall of in a certain way.

Last Friday the 3rd of August my class 

did our assembly. The theme was 

'The Greatest Showman'.

Show Time!

Show Time!

The bright lights were shining in my face but I hardly noticed it from all the excitement.

All the colourful skirts were waving as we danced.

I was right  at the front with a big smile on my face.

All day I was so nervous but Kaitlin really helped  me be confident and I actually forgot that I
was scared. I just thought I wouldn't be scared once I focused on what I was doing.

As we finished me and Kaitlin did our pose, it was awesome.

With all the lights and makeup and costumes and the big flag it looked amazing.

The music stops and we move back and stand still for the last bit of the cast and then move to
the front again to sing or last song ‘We Are the World’. I smile happily and do the signing.
It was the best production I had ever done.

This week we have been practising or item for the production 

the theme this year is Countries. The whole thing is called 'The Journey'.

Our class is doing Brazil. It is all about colour festival, football and colour.

All the girls are wearing bright colourful skirts with leotards and little Brazilian coloured 

flowers. The boy are split into to groups football and rappers. 

Here are some cool facts about Brazil.

1. Football is a very popular sport in Brazil and I

play it, it is very fun.

2. There are some amazing creatures in Brazil like the Capybaras.

Capybaras are native mammals in South America. They are

the biggest rodents in the world. Or you can say chigüire which

means the same in German. They are also very clever.

My Maths

My Maths

This week Mackenzie and I did some maths 
about graphs. First we  had to look at an emoji 
graph and answer a few questions then we made our 
own graph about desserts and what desserts we like,
like ice-cream and what ones we don't like, like apple pie.
You can make a graph about anything you like.
I hope you enjoy the photo and maybe you could make a graph.

     

The Art Gallery and Museum

The Art Gallery and Museum

Yesterday the 13th of June we went to the Art Gallery and Museum. First we went to the
Art Gallery we saw lots of maori weavings and a room of symmetrical paintings.

I loved  it. Then we did some art in the art room. There’s an art room in the Art Gallery!
Amazing Isn’t it. My favourite part was the art we did was to do with Maori as well we made
Waka huia to put the special Maori feathers that you were in your hair in. I accidentally did my
best design on the bottom. We used water paint  colour them. I haven’t finished mine though.
We had lunch in the art room then we went to the museum. At the museum We learnt about
solar panel cars and that the sun is a tiny star. There was a giant dome thing that showed you
what sound the sun makes. My favourite part was the goggles that made you see thing it was
actually pretty scary.

Out of all the trips I have ever had that one was definitely the best.
